Position: Driver Helper (Driver in Training) - Kelowna

Schedule: 4 x 10 as Driver Helper 3 x 12 as Driver in Training Floater 4:30 AM starts

Position Overview

This position rides with the Class 1 Local Delivery Driver on established routes to ensure accurate on-time delivery for GFS customers within standard operating procedures. This person is expected to obtain its Class 1 Learner license within 3 months of hire and go through MELT program (at the cost of GFS) to become a Class 1 Local Delivery Driver in GFS. You will start as a Driver Helper working 4 x 10 hours shift and once you are enrolled into our MELT program you will then be switched to 3 x 12 hours shift.

Shifts will be based out of Kelowna. Will be assigned to work at other depots near Kelowna as per business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include correctly offloading product to customer location assisting the Class 1 Local Delivery Driver with product delivery and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to lift load push pull and carry items up to 60 lbs

• Valid Class 5 license

• Ability to work independently as well as assist team members when necessary

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• Safe operation of all equipment

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Professional demeanor and customer service focus

• Ability to excel in a fast paced physically demanding position

• Be a team player and model the GFS Cornerstone Values

• Consistent on-time attendance

• Availability for weekends and statutory holidays.
