Translator

FULL TIME, Permanent

Location: Ontario OR Quebec - 100% Remote (All expenses paid for Toronto office visits – couple times a year) Hours: Mon-Fri - 9am-5pm (35 hours/wk.) Client is flexible with start and end times. There is overtime pay over 35 hours a week. Salary: $63K

Responsibilities

Job Summary: The Translator is responsible for the translation of internal documents developed in English into French in accordance with the organizational style guide and industry standards.

Duties:

  • Translate documents from English to French and occasionally from French to English.
  • Proofreading documentation.
  • Conduct terminology research and maintain the terminology database.
  • Keep up with organizational and industry policies and procedures.
  • Assist from time to time with special projects.
  • Performs other appropriate duties related to translation, or as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Fluently Bilingual (French & English) – Spoken and Written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in translation.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ job experience as a translator
  • Excellent proofreading abilities with a thorough knowledge of French grammar and punctuation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of office automation tools such as MS Office Suite.
  • Trados software (or equivalent).
