ActioNet has an opportunity for a Telecommunications Engineer, located in San Diego, CA.  The candidate must have an Active Secret clearance. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex engineering projects for large DoD telecom infrastructure modernization efforts.

 

Target Salary $110K-140K

 

As the Telecommunications Engineer, you will spearhead the technical design and implementation of our telecom modernization project. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the system by providing technical leadership, architecture design, and engineering oversight. Your responsibilities will include conducting requirements analysis, leading site surveys, developing detailed designs, and overseeing the implementation. Additionally, you will work closely with the project team to ensure the system meets all performance and reliability requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and engineering efforts for the telecom infrastructure project.
  • Conduct thorough requirements analysis and translate them into system specifications.
  • Perform site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and identify upgrade requirements.
  • Develop detailed system architecture and design documents.
  • Create engineering packages, including diagrams, BOMs, and installation instructions.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of the system components.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure it meets all requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during deployment and post-implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team.
  • Stay current with telecom technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project team, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Science/Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience leading complex telecom engineering projects.
  • 5 years experience implementing Wireless 802.11 networks (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of voice, data, and fiber optic technologies and standards.
  • Experience with designing and implementing large-scale LAN/WAN infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, routing/switching, and network security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
