Quality Specialist to join our team in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. This role supports our commitment to delivering exceptional project outcomes in the manufacturing, tooling, and automation industries. You’ll play a critical part in maintaining and improving quality systems, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
As a Quality Specialist, you will collaborate closely with project management, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to uphold our high standards for performance, safety, and innovation.
What You’ll Get To Do - Support project quality planning in alignment with customer statements of work (SOW), specifications, and applicable standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers during all project phases to ensure lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives are captured and implemented.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to investigate non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective/preventive actions using tools such as 8D methodology.
- Promote and apply best practices in Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Repair, Maintenance, and Service during design reviews.
- Participate in internal buy-offs, customer buy-offs, and supplier buy-offs, ensuring all quality requirements are met.
- Utilize quality and continuous improvement tools such as Pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, SIPOC, process mapping, and PDCA to drive performance and process improvements.
- Lead and manage critical quality improvement projects, including scope definition, risk assessment, benefit analysis, and implementation timelines.
- Collect and analyze project quality performance data, reporting on cost of quality (CoQ), non-conformance trends, and 8D effectiveness.
- Interpret and support the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) standards applicable to the organization.
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits to support compliance and drive QMS improvements.
- Serve as a customer advocate within the organization, ensuring quality expectations are met and exceeded.
What We Are Looking For - A university degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline is preferred. A college diploma in industrial engineering or technology will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, tooling, or industrial environment.
- Experience with quality tools, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and structured problem-solving.
- Strong data analysis skills and a detail-oriented, analytical mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with customers.
- Strong organizational and coaching abilities, with a track record of building cross-functional partnerships.
- Self-motivated, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may occasionally be required.
