Job Description

Work Setting:

• School or educational institution/establishment

Main duties:

• Sweep, mop, wash, wax and polish floors
  
• Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
• Organize toy materials to make sure order in activity areas
• Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas (for infants and toddlers and if needed)
• Perform housekeeping duties, like laundry, cleaning, and dish washing
• Sanitize toys and play equipment
• Maintain a safe play environment
• Assist in preparing food as well as serving meals, refreshments to children
• Ensure that parking lot and sidewalks are salted to ensure there are no slipping hazards.
• Ensure that all sidewalks are cleared of snow before the daycare opens and kept clear through-out the day.
• Clean the windows on the front entrance, exit and service center doors on a daily basis.
• Perform other related general cleaning duties
• Stock linen closets and other supplies' areas
• Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
• Clean and disinfect areas such as infant rooms, toddler rooms, preschool rooms, and washroom.
• Pick up debris and empty trash containers
• Report and store lost and found items
• May provide basic information on facilities
• May handle complaints.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• RCMP (Criminal Record Check)
• Medical Exam
• Immunization Records
• Tuberculosis Test
• 1 year to less than 2 years’ Experience
