Job Description:

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented News Writer to join our editorial team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for daily news writing and production, delivering timely and engaging coverage of trending stories in the esports and gaming world.

The ideal candidate is plugged into the latest developments across the industry, understands what makes a headline click-worthy, and can produce clean, accurate copy under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Writing timely, accurate news stories using journalistic storytelling principles

  • Maintain an understanding of key trends and entities in the industry to backstop the development of featured content

  • Managing the news publication calendar and editorial strategy

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years journalistic experience with at least 1 year reporting on the esports and/or gaming industry

  • Solid knowledge of the esports and gaming industry and key entities in primary location(Japan)

  • Proficiency with CMS platforms and editorial tools

  • A track record of creating timely, accurate, and insightful news

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Native level of Japanese writing skill

  • Organised, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic

  • Meticulous attention to detail through proofreading and editing skills


Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in publishing esports and gaming news on a popular website
