We are seeking an innovative, customer-centric, results driven 'Head of Paid Services' to join us on our mission to make all books in all formats available to all readers in Japan.
The ideal candidate for this role will share our vision for reading, have a passion for building strong stakeholder relationships and a growth mindset enabling them to challenge the status quo. This is an exciting role leading a team of 20+ brand specialists (Amazon Vendor Services, AVS) and program managers in the the creation and delivery of strategic services that add significant value for book publishers working with Amazon in Japan.
In this role you will partner with multiple teams in the Japan Books organization (marketing, supply chain, vendor management, kindle, manga) to build and deliver services that deliver value for both publishers and our readers. The ideal candidate will be curious to learn about all aspects of the Amazon flywheel and think big about building innovative solutions that benefit all aspects of the business. You will also partner with central teams in Japan to define broader strategies around AVS and paid services; and will stay well connected to leaders in the worldwide books organization to stay ahead of books best practices in this space.
Key job responsibilities
*Lead a diverse team of team leaders, brand specialists and senior program managers, delivering effective coaching and fostering a productive and inclusive environment.
*Influence business decisions internally and with publishers with clear well communicated proposals based on data and industry expertise.
*Identify and implement improvements across existing services and programs focusing on delivering bar raising publisher satisfaction
*Build robust growth plans to increase service engagement and mechanisms to routinely identify new opportunities for exploration and development
*Implement mechanisms across the organization to ensure all programs focus on improving priority inputs and driving value across the flywheel
*Partner with leaders across the Japan Books team to stay aligned with the biggest organizational priorities
*Participate and influence central teams on the strategy for core AVS and paid services programs
*Adopt and share global best practices from across the worldwide books organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of team management experience
- 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Business level English language skills (written and verbal)
