Job Description

Our Distribution Manager will be able to promote a culture of continuous improvement in operations and the working culture, be accountable for their team’s operation and performance, and partner with other departments and teams to ensure the overall business is run with an owner’s mentality. This role will report directly to the company President.

Position Responsibilities for Distribution Manager:
  • Guide all aspects of day-to-day warehouse operations to uphold exceptional levels of accuracy, safety and performance, with potential to manage multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Cultivate and empower a dedicated team of 10+ warehouse employees to deliver unparalleled customer service and efficiency.
  • Work with company leaders on strategic planning, big-picture decisions and business initiatives.
  • S&R: This role is a key player in the shipping and receiving realm, and leverages information systems and software to enable strong forecasting and is prepared to house and safely store proper quantities through varying seasons.
  • Monitor the flow of work throughout the warehouse, investigating unusual delays, and/or problem areas, and then take appropriate action to improve.
  • KPIs: Ensure operating objectives, goals, and performance standards are communicated, achieved, sustained and/or improved by developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Inventory Management: Achieve and sustain 98% inventory accuracy through a disciplined cycle counting program. Organize and coordinate periodic physical inventories, while pursuing best-in-class ERP tool transformation for real-time, perpetual inventory.
  • Develop regional distribution strategies to manage inbound, outbound, returns, and inventory placement processes to ensure the highest levels of on-time service, safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements within the warehouse and during transportation.
  • Directly impact business profitability and customer experience.
  • Operational responsibility for end results, planning, and finances/budget.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

As the Distribution Manager , you’ll develop a deep understanding of the commercial roofing market and its characteristics, then support our Executive Leadership Team with actionable insights and recommendations. This can include but is not limited to improved ERP systems and tech integrations for inventory management and distribution.

Your ability to analyze reports and identify areas of opportunity are second only to your ability to use those insights to guide your team to reach their KPIs. These skills demonstrate your ability to manage and track internal budgets, comprehend volume forecasts, and to plan in alignment with company vision.
  • Work seamlessly across multiple functions within the organization to understand requirements and lead change management in order to deliver enterprise-wide programs.
  • Consistent communication with ownership and Executive Leadership as we aim for continued growth.
What You Bring:
  • A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work, or a formal degree in Distribution.
  • Logistics knowledge - demonstrable experience and understanding of supply chain management principles and transportation options in conjunction with warehouse operations.
  • Expertise in computer software, including Microsoft Office applications, NetSuite (or similar transactional software), and Apple products.
  • Willingness to work some varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and some regional travel.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • High energy, strong desire to excel, and enthusiasm to drive positive change.
  • Knowledge of DOT and Federal and State regulations a plus.
