About the Role

The Distribution Centre (DC) Manager supports Coast through overseeing DC operations and guiding the team to ensure all product is received, stored and shipped in line with deadlines, standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines. This role reports to the Director, Supply Chain & Logistics.

Temporary Contract with Possibility to Extend

This role is a temporary contract for an initial duration of about 3-months, with a possibility to extend.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the DC team to ensure daily tasks they are completed to company standards and established KPIs
  • Promote and uphold operational best practices
  • Champion Health and Safety, ensuring a safe working environment for the team
  • Schedule and overseeing seeing all DC maintenance and repairs.
  • Recruit and Develop team, ensuring ongoing training and certifications are completed and maintained in Coast health and safety standards.
  • Review warehouse stock and ensure items are rotated, down stocked, and organized in a fashion that makes sense for efficiencies
  • Spot check saved receiving documents to ensure they are saved correctly, and the receiving report is true and accurate
  • Manage monthly cycle counting to ensure inventory is true and correct any issues immediately
  • Assist customers with inquiries and resolving any concerns and have a customer centric approach

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate

  • At least of 2 years Supervisor / Management experience within a distribution warehouse facility
  • Health and Safety and Forklift certifications are considered an asset
  • Ability to use the Microsoft suite, inducing Outlook, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Metric & KPI focused including performance and functional based operations
  • The ability to work well with others and build an effective team. Always representing the company with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic. Drive to continually improve knowledge and skills
