Position: Data Engineer – Databricks | ADF | SAP Extractors | CDC/ETL

About the Role: As a Data Engineer at Navaide, you will build and optimize modern data infrastructure to enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and decision intelligence for mission-critical government programs. You'll play a key role in extracting and transforming large datasets from legacy systems—such as SAP—and delivering robust, scalable pipelines across cloud-native platforms like Azure Databricks.

Your work will directly support data modernization efforts through efficient ingestion, transformation, and orchestration of trusted data, enabling real-time insight and agile decision-making across complex enterprise environments.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data platform development
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake
• Proficient in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building and orchestrating data pipelines
• Experience extracting and transforming data from SAP ECC or S/4HANA using SAP extractors
• Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) methods and ETL/ELT best practices
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and logic implementation
• Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and performance tuning

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and build efficient, secure, and reusable data pipelines in Databricks and Azure Data Factory
• Integrate large datasets from legacy systems such as SAP using extractors and CDC mechanisms
• Implement CDC/ETL processes to support real-time and batch data flows
• Ensure quality, consistency, and lineage of data across multiple systems and use cases
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and solution architects to support downstream analytics and ML models
• Maintain documentation and contribute to data platform standardization, security, and compliance practices

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to receive a DoD security clearance.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required (<25%)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
