Job Description

Location: O’Connor Street, Ottawa
Pay Rate: TBD
Hours:7:30a.m. and 5:30p.m. 
Contract duration: 6 months to 1 year

Education
Successful completion of post-secondary education from a recognized institution in communications or translation or a related discipline OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience related to the position.

Experience
Extensive experience in the field of text production, such as editing, trans editing or writing
Experience in translating and revising translations
Experience in adapting texts for a specific audience
Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Experience in using tools such as Logiterm and other computer-assisted translation tools and electronic and printed resources, such as terminology databases and style guides
Experience in providing language advice to clients in a tactful manner

Skills
Advanced command of the English and French languages, including syntax, grammar and spelling
Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and collaboration software (Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.)
Attention to detail

Abilities
To work with minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines
To communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in both official languages
To work effectively within a team
