Job Summary:

This role is responsible for developing, improving, and managing welding techniques and procedures to support fabrication and production processes. The position ensures compliance with industry standards and contributes to quality, efficiency, and innovation within the welding department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine welding techniques, procedures, and applications for complex metal fabrication.
  • Lead research initiatives to test new fabrication processes, welding methods, and equipment.
  • Analyze engineering designs to define welding requirements and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Oversee certification, training, and qualification of welding personnel; maintain records in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with internal, customer, and NADCAP welding standards and lead audit activities.
  • Evaluate and recommend capital investments for welding operations and manage implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in welding engineering, preferably within aerospace or similar industries.
  • Expertise in semi-automated GTAW processes; familiarity with resistance and laser welding is preferred.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and regulatory codes.
  • Proven skills in technical reporting, procedure development, and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
