Job Description Job Summary This position inputs and processes shipments, in accordance with UPS and local government policies.
Job Title: Warehouse Worker (Scanner)
Job Type: Part-Time / Permanent
Workdays: Monday to Friday (must be able to work ALL 5 days of the week)
Shift Hours: 2.00 PM to 7.00 PM (must be able to work a minimum of 25 hrs. per week)
Shift Duration: 5 hours a day (requires flexibility on Friday with Start from 3.00 PM and Finish time)
Work Location: 1221 32ND AVENUE LACHINE, QC H8T 3H2
Wage Salary: $16.65 per hour
Key Responsibilities And Duties - Operating a barcode scanner to scan packages that are stored on shelves. This requires the ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift, repeatedly using a range of motion reaching over 7 feet and bending down to floor level.
- Manipulating packages and bags filled with small packages. Package and bags can weigh up to 70lbs and must be carried or lifted onto tables or workstations.
- Printing paperwork, stuffing these into pouches and affixing these pouches to the corresponding packages. Requires dexterity and proficiency in reading standard sized type font as well as the ability to comfortably handle packages and bags weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Basic key-entry tasks such as keying tracking numbers into spreadsheets are also possible, however these tasks are minimal.
Requirements - Ability to lift-up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs - Required
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills
- Typing speed of 40+ words per minute with 90% accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills: French 90% / English 10%
- Level of French needed: proficiency
