Job Description:  Walter Knoll Florist, a renowned floral shop in O'Fallon, MO, is seeking a versatile and customer-focused individual to join our team in a combined role as a Retail Clerk, Floral Assistant & Driver . In this dynamic position, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional customer service in-store, assisting with floral arrangement preparation, and delivering floral products to our valued customers.

Training for this position will begin at our main location at 2765 LaSalle St., St. Louis, MO 63104, before transitioning to the O'Fallon location.

Responsibilities:

Delivery Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently deliver floral arrangements, plants, and retail products to customers' designated locations.
• Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling of fragile items.
• Coordinate delivery routes and schedules to optimize time management and ensure on-time deliveries.
• Use GPS and navigation tools to follow efficient routes.
• Review delivery orders, invoices, and customer instructions for accurate deliveries.
• Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, reporting mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Package, label, and organize floral arrangements in-store as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, resolving any delivery-related issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle, stocked with necessary supplies.
• After each stop, notify the recipient of the delivery via cell phone and log the completion; Walter Knoll Florist provides cell phone reimbursement.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.

Retail & Floral Assistance:

• Greet and assist customers in selecting floral arrangements, plants, and gift items, providing recommendations based on their preferences and occasions.
• Answer inquiries, provide product information, and offer creative floral design suggestions.
• Process customer orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Prepare and arrange flowers, plants, and other floral products for display, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Create custom floral arrangements based on customer requests, incorporating unique designs and artistic elements.
• Assist with receiving and organizing incoming floral shipments, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area for an inviting shopping environment.
• Assist with promotional displays, seasonal decor installations, and special events as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with floral industry trends and emerging design techniques.
• Collaborate with the floral design team to share ideas and inspiration.

Qualifications:

• Retail & Floral: Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred; familiarity with floral products and design is a plus.
• Driver Requirements (2 Years of Driving Professionally): High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A Missouri Class E "Chauffeur" License or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication skills, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
• Good time-management and organizational skills; ability to work independently.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems is advantageous.
