【Principal Backend Engineer】We are looking for a technical leader to play a central role in a fast-growing SaaS product!

• A fast-growing enterprise SaaS product that is being adopted by major companies. We are looking for a Principal Backend Engineer to lead the backend development and raise the team's technical capabilities and quality.
• This is not just a "development lead," but a position where you can make decisions and exert influence across the three axes of technology, business, and organization.

The Role

• Develop and improve back-end functionality and design reviews for our SaaS products
• Improve code quality and design capabilities of the entire team and build a review culture
• Technical and strategic collaboration with stakeholders (product, sales, support)
• Lead high-quality localization for the Japanese market
• Improve development process, Team development, formulation of design guidelines
• Make and lead decisions with a mid- to long-term perspective, including technology selection and infrastructure design

Technology Stacks

• Front-end: React, Remix, Tailwind CSS
• Back-end: Go (Goa), Python
• Infrastructure and CI/CD: AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel, Terraform Cloud, GitHub
• Database: DynamoDB,. OpenSearch, Databricks
• Authentication infrastructure: Auth0, Amazon Cognito
• Knowledge and documentation: Notion, Google Workspace
• Communication: Slack, Linear

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of back-end development experience (working experience in Go or Python preferred)
• 5+ years of experience leading development teams (including code review, design guidance, and training)
• 2+ years of practical communication (spoken and written) in English

Welcomed Skills and Knowledge

• Experience developing and operating enterprise software products
• Experience utilizing Japanese natural language processing, search algorithms, and AI technologies
• Deep knowledge of data infrastructure design, ETL, and data governance

Work Environment

• Working hours: Full remote available (hybrid system with option to come in 1-3 days a week)
• Office location: Minato-ku, Tokyo (Hamamatsucho area)
• Employment status: Full-time
• Working hours: Flextime system (core hours 11:00-15:00)
• Holidays: Weekends, holidays, annual paid vacation, special leave upon hire
