Job Description

Location: Marriott Château Champlain Hotel, Montreal, Quebec
Internship Duration: 3 to 6 months
Availability: Full-time

Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Centre. This iconic Montreal hotel was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms, and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Position Overview:
As a Sustainable Development Intern, you will work closely with our team to design, implement, and evaluate environmental improvement projects. Your role will be essential in analyzing and optimizing our practices, helping reduce our ecological footprint while maintaining the hotel's high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating current processes and identify opportunities to reduce our environmental impact (energy, water, waste, etc.).
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainability projects, such as energy efficiency, waste management, and plastic reduction.
  • Analyze data related to green initiatives, measure the impact of actions, and prepare progress reports.
  • Collaborate with various departments (housekeeping, kitchen, front desk) to ensure consistent sustainable practices across the organization.
  • Raise awareness among staff about eco-friendly practices and participate in ongoing sustainability training.
  • Propose new ideas and strategies to integrate more environmentally friendly practices into our operations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently studying environmental management, sustainable development, hospitality management with a sustainability focus, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in environmental management and integrating sustainable practices within the hospitality industry.
  • Skills in data analysis and project management.
  • Proactive, creative, and able to propose innovative solutions.
  • Bilingual in French and English. 

Languages: Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is required for this position, as we serve international clients.
