Social Media Video Content Creator

Position Status: Part Time, 15 Hours/Week
Reports to: Creative Communications Director
Works closely with: Communications Team, SERVE Team Members, Staff

Position Summary:

This role supports Bayview Glen Church’s mission by helping tell meaningful stories and create engaging visual content for our online platforms. As a Social Media Video Content Creator, you will focus on creating short-form videos for Instagram, Facebook, and our website. You’ll help us share what God is doing through our church in a way that is creative, clear, and aligned with our visual identity.

This part-time role includes some in-office hours during the week, with availability on Sundays to film Sunday Services or events. You’ll work closely with the Communications Team and other ministry leaders to capture and craft content that helps more people see and experience God’s love. Compensation for this part-time role is based on experience, with an hourly rate ranging from $18 to $20 per hour. Working hours may require working evenings and weekends.

Candidate Profile:

• Spiritually and emotionally mature Christian
• Someone who can work in a fast-paced, creative environment with efficiency and excellence
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects and timelines with strong attention to detail
• A Self-starter who can plan, capture, and edit engaging video content for social and web use
• Some creative, collaborative, and values both good design and good storytelling
• Able to take ownership of projects with minimal supervision
• Expected to regularly attend our worship services and be an active participant in Bayview Glen’s church community

Skills and Qualifications:

• Brings excellent visual instincts and a modern aesthetic that reflects and enhances Bayview Glen’s brand identity.
• Experienced in short-form video content creation for social media (Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts)
• Skilled with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve)
• Comfortable filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras
• Familiar with social trends and best practices for Instagram and Facebook
• Excellent visual storyteller who understands pacing, rhythm, and user attention spans
• Bonus: Basic graphic design, motion graphics, or experience with Canva
• Bachelor’s degree in media, communications, or a related field preferred, not required
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and create modern, on-brand social video content with compelling storytelling, portfolio required
• Experience in Church or nonprofit settings is an asset
• Understanding of Bayview Glen Church’s culture and mission is an asset.

Primary Responsibilities:

Social Video Production

• Capture and edit short-form video content for social media & website
• Create content that highlights Bayview Glen’s stories, events, and Sunday moments
• Contribute ideas to seasonal campaigns and content strategies

Platform Optimization

• Format and deliver content optimized for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
• Follow brand guidelines and visual standards

Content Coordination

• Collaborate with the Communications Team and ministry leads on key campaigns
• Help coordinate video shoot logistics and schedule filming
• Provide constructive feedback and editing insight when working with other creatives

Sunday and Event Filming

• Capture Sunday service highlights, baptisms, special events, or SERVE Team stories
• Attend and film mid-week events or ministry environments as arranged by the Creative Communications Director
• Assist with on-site filming needs alongside the Creative Communications Director
• Other duties as assigned
