The Role

• Ability to lead a team to execute high-quality, sustainable outcomes in line with internal standards. Results-driven and performance-oriented, demonstrating a clear sense of accountability and ownership for financial activities and business development.
• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; high degree of proficiency in costing; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep management updated on the country's financial status.
• Assist the local leadership team in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
• Support the local CEO in engaging around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery. Demonstrates strong leadership and collaborates with key stakeholders to assist business growth from a financial perspective.
• Oversee all financial, project/program, and accounting activities; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with budgets throughout the period; collate financial reporting materials.
• Manage cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with relevant personnel. Continuously collaborate to assess the financial efficacy of operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support ongoing functions.
• Prepare, review, and submit a variety of financial reports, reconciliations, communications, schedules, tables, and statements to and from the Head Office, internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies.
• Research, interpret, update, audit, and maintain various financial records and logs.
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal control and safeguards for revenue receipt, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
• Provide oversight for all audit activities and offer guidance within the local entity.
• Analyze financial data and monitor internal controls across the operation.
• Provide financial advice for new business development with strategic analysis and collaborate closely with the regional team for expansion initiatives.
• Maintain a high level of engagement with financial leaders and team members; provide coaching to enhance functions and team management within finance.
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from the regional leadership team as needed.

Your Skills

• 5+ years of relevant financial management experience
• Basic understanding of accounting
• High business level Japanese
• Business level English
