Job Title : Senior Data Engineer

Location : Mt. Sterling, IL, or Chesterfield, MO (onsite)

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Department : Information Technology 

Reports To : Director of Data & AI

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a team of data engineers, ensuring successful completion of data pipeline projects.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources (flat files, databases, APIs, message queues, and more).
• Own and execute complex data projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting analytics.
• Leverage various technologies, scripting, and programming languages to build robust data solutions.
• Assist in the development, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning and artificial intelligence data pipelines.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in IBM DataStage or an equivalent data integration tool.
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines in Python.
• 2+ years of experience in hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to coding and data orchestration.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• IBM Data Engineer certification.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong project management and planning skills.
