Join Our Team as a Seasonal Grounds Custodian!

Orono Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Seasonal Grounds Custodian to help keep our school grounds and facilities looking their best! Your Role Will Include:

• Keeping the grounds looking great.  Mow, trim, weed, spray, and care for trees and landscaping.
• Tackling maintenance tasks. Assist with routine cleaning, repairs, and special projects.
• Working with tools & equipment. Operate mowers, trimmers, and other maintenance equipment.
• Making a difference. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications:

• Age 16+ and successful completion of background check.
• Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to doing a great job.
• Friendly & team-oriented – work well with staff, students, and the community.
• Physically active – able to lift up to 40 lbs., bend, squat, twist, and climb stairs.
• Comfortable working in different conditions – hot, cold, dusty, wet, noisy, and small spaces.
• Previous experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, or custodial work is a plus!

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical skills & familiarity with outdoor maintenance equipment. 

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting pay $17.00/hour 

Location & Shift Times:

• Orono School District Grounds. 
• Seasonal position, April 1 - October 31.
• Full Time, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Monday - Friday, no holidays or weekends.
