Our top government client on the Oomple Platform is looking for a professional who can provide Scrum Master Services to join their team for a fully remote contract engagement.

Expected Start Date: April 2025

Expected End Date: April 2026

Our client is seeking a Scrum Master Service Provider to support their team by creating the conditions for the team to frequently deliver high-user value / high-quality products, allow the team to self-organize, remove impediments, shield the team from outside distractions, and continuously promote and support the team’s use of Agile and Scrum. The Scrum Master will focus on developing a new and innovative solution for aggregating and displaying company information and will act as a facilitator who supports team members in applying Agile practices, processes, and behaviors for effective, quality execution.

The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Must have or be eligible for Enhanced Reliability Status
  • Completed an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, program management, or business analysis
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a dedicated Scrum Master

Other Skills Required:

  • Experience working in Technology, Data and Information Management, Financial Services, or within a Federal Crown Corporation
  • Strong knowledge of Data ecosystems (e.g., ITIL, IT Service Management, IT Operations)
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms such as PowerBI, SAS Viya, Informatica MDM, SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Infosphere
  • Complex stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile principles, Scrum Framework, and Kanban

Assets:

  • Scrum Master certification (e.g., DASM, DASSM, PSM)
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Knowledge of Planview Portfolios AgilePlace
  • Fluently bilingual in both official languages, French and English

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of Agile events and project/program management practices
  • Support the Product Owner to align team actions with product goals, vision, and roadmap
  • Identify and action impediments using tools like burndown charts and OKRs
  • Interpret team and DevOps/IT metrics to inform decisions
  • Clear obstacles, maintain a risk and improvement log
  • Facilitate team events such as planning sessions, retrospectives, mid-cycle reviews, and demos
  • Organize story/task estimation and coordinate technology dependencies
  • Coordinate cross-team interactions and product-level synchronizations
  • Support trade-off analysis between short- and long-term goals
  • Promote Agile principles, facilitate learning and continuous improvement
  • Foster trust through retrospectives and feedback
  • Bring transparency between Business and IT
  • Support planning of larger initiatives with project management skills
