The Opportunity

We are looking for a Quality Lab Supervisor to oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, manage lab technicians across multiple shifts, and support the development and implementation of testing procedures and quality documentation. The role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with MML QMS procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage lab technicians across 4 shifts.
  • Conduct required chemical and product tests and inspections.
  • Develop and maintain lab testing procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with MML’s Quality Management System and industry regulations.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration requirements.
  • Identify and support the resolution of quality issues and non-conformities.
  • Support internal audits and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training for lab staff in testing and inspection protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support corrective actions and quality enhancements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Quality Operations Manager.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with lab testing and inspection.
  • Strong background in lab supervision and investigation of out-of-spec results.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement lab documentation.
  • Experience providing training to lab technicians.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining lab equipment and calibration.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, ASTM, and other quality system standards.
  • Experience supervising lab testing activities.
  • Education in Process Engineering.
  • Experience designing and implementing new testing procedures.
