Job Description

Location: This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site at our Burnaby, BC office and 2 days remote per week.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

Actual compensation within the range will be based on experience. We also offer quarterly variable compensation package (bonus) + benefits

What You’ll Do

Purpose of the role

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing the end-to-end payroll processing for all Canadian Support Offices, Manufacturing and Distribution sites, and wholly owned stores. This role supports the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services, ensures ongoing legislative compliance, and contributes to continuous process improvements. As a key subject matter expert, the Payroll Analyst provides guidance on complex payroll matters and serves as a trusted advisor to all support functions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll independently with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and provincial regulations across multiple provinces
  • Review and validate complex payroll calculations including bonuses, retroactive payments, and other variable pay components
  • Coordinate and execute off-cycle payments, adjustments, and special payroll runs as required
  • Administer and audit payroll transactions such as new hires, employee changes, terminations, leaves of absence, and ROEs
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and support the month-end close process
  • Support year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, T4, provincial returns, and year-to-date adjustments
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve payroll SOP’s and internal controls
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and IT teams on system enhancements, data integrity, and payroll-related projects or implementations
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute payroll-related reports and dashboards to inform strategic business decisions
  • Address and resolve complex payroll-related inquiries with a strong commitment to service, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Provide training to junior payroll team members to support skill development and knowledge sharing
  • Monitor legislative changes and emerging payroll trends; provide insights and recommendations to leadership to ensure ongoing compliance and optimization

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • PCP or PLP designation in good standing
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including full-cycle processing across multiple provinces
  • Expertise in Canadian payroll legislation and provincial employment standards
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and support various stakeholders
  • Proven ability to handle confidential data with discretion
  • Experience supporting payroll audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives

  • Administration of international mobility / secondments
  • Strong history of applying continuous improvement concepts and tools
  • Experience with multi HRIS systems
