Job Description

Niverville Community Fellowship part of Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference is seeking a Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Ministries to join our ministry team as we seek to continue to action our mission of “Making Disciples of Jesus as we Worship, Grow, and Serve in Love”.  The Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Ministries will be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ with a commitment to Anabaptist faith and theology as expressed in the EMMC statement of faith and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Ministries role is to introduce and disciple young people into a life lived for Christ by our example, teaching, and relationships founded in love. 

Key position responsibilities include:

  • Provide vision and pastoral leadership for the youth and young adult ministries in consultation with the Lead Pastor.
  • Plan and coordinate a well-balanced 12-month spiritual nurture plan for youth through worship, growth and service opportunities.
  • Oversee all youth ministry programming.
  • Recruit, equip and supervise a team of volunteers.
  • Build relationships with local schools and youth ministry ministerial.
  • Collaborate with young adults to create a community for spiritual growth and connection.
  • Administrative responsibilities.
  • Pastoral duties which include preaching, worship leading, administration of ordinances.

Skills & Qualifications include:

  • Candidates with formal academic training in Youth Ministry, Christian Education, and/or Pastoral Studies would be preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen well, empathize, and support young people and families through crisis and discipleship related issues.
  • Eager and able to work in a team-ministry environment.
  • Passionate about training and discipleship.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, organize a number of events, and balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.
