Tasks
- Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for germination
- Direct greenhouse and nursery operations
- Implement sustainable gardening trends such as permaculture practices
- Organize greenhouse and nursery operations
- Oversee deleafing horticultural crops activities
- Supervise staff in shoots positioning and seed cutting
- Control reported insect, disease and weed problems
- Determine type and quantity of stock to grow
- Establish and maintain required environment
- Establish work schedules
- Hire, train and supervise staff
- Order materials and stock
- Provide product care and other information and service to customers
- Supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding and spraying
