Nurse Practitioner – Hospitalist
Location: Northern Ontario
Rate: $130/hour + Travel and Accommodation Provided
Contract: 3 months (Full-Time), with potential for extension

SpeedStaff Medical is seeking experienced a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a hospitalist role in Northern Ontario . This is a unique opportunity to provide inpatient care in a rural healthcare setting, work collaboratively with hospital team, and make a meaningful impact in an underserved community.

About the Role

The NP Hospitalist will provide comprehensive medical management for hospitalized patients, working alongside physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage acute and chronic conditions, and a commitment to delivering high-quality inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments , diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.).
• Prescribe and manage medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team.
• Ensure smooth care transitions , including discharge planning.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide urgent care as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• NP experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
