We have a term specific, part time (0.39 FTE) Music Therapist opening available.

In this position, the Certified Music Therapist develops, implements, and evaluates client treatment plans and provides music therapy to promote, maintain, and restore client’s mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and approved research, provides formal and informal consultations to other staff.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities :

• Receives referrals from a variety of internal / external sources.
• Develops and implements client centred therapy and goal oriented music therapy services for individual and group clients.
• Provides music therapy services such as encouraging and assisting clients and families to sing, play instruments, improvise, compose, listen, move rhythmically, reminisce, relax and review life to promote, maintain, and restore clients’ physical, psycho-social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual health.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Provides input into the development and evaluation of program policies, procedures and standards.
• Maintains equipment and supplies as required.
• Presents educational in-services to staff, students, interns and volunteers.
• Maintains knowledge of current developments in Music Therapy.
• Participates in quality assurance / improvement activities.
