Medical Transportation Driver

Job Location: Moose Factory, Ontario

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Home & Community Care Coordinator, the Transportation Services Driver shall provide transportation services for the members of Moose Cree First nation. The Driver will provide transportation services for medical appointments, for treatments and follow-up appointments. Priority will be given to medical appointments for all ages.

Our program provides transportation services for opportunities for socialization, to complete errands, and to promote independent living and good quality of life for the cognitively impaired, physically disabled, frail and elderly.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Compassionate in helping the elders and disable in the community.
2. Able to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
3. Reliable and Dependable.
4. Assist clients in and out of the vehicle when required.
5. Strong interpersonal skills & problem-solving skills.
6. Practice safety protocol for the elders and disable of the community.
7. Good organizational and administration skills.
8. Previous experience in delivering transportation services.
9. Able to handle difficult situations and clients.
10. The ability to work under minimum supervision, flexible hours and within a team framework.
11. Strong written and communication skills.
12. Computer and radio skills.
13. The ability to speak Cree language is an asset.
14. Valid Class “G” Driver’s license.
15. CPIC with a vulnerable sector required.
16. Must have C.P.R. and First Aid or willing to obtain.
17. The Transportation Services Driver shall have a thorough understanding of the cultural environment in which they serve.

Salary: $38,025.00 – $48,184.50

Duration: Permanent with 3-months probation
