Medical Office Assistant

Job Description

A busy multi-practitioner family practice in Langley is seeking a highly organized, efficient, and motivated MOA to join their team and work alongside their friendly staff.

This position is full-time Monday - Friday.
Experience with Profile EMR, Oscar Pro, or Juno. ICBC, WCB an MSP is an asset.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a medical office environment and will excel in:

  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients and external agencies
  • Health administrative practices and the ability to adhere to organization policies, procedures and systems
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and EMR
  • Prioritizing tasks and and maintaining strong organizational skills
  • Taking initiative while exercising sound judgement and problem solving
  • Researching and compiling data reports as required

MOA Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering telephone calls, voicemails, emails
  • Educating patients about clinic procedures
  • EMR and task management/updating medical records
  • Ensuring daily paperwork is completed (scans, TCIs, referrals...)
  • Triage patients over the phone using protocol
  • Assisting patients to exam rooms and setting up procedure trays as needed
  • Taking patient vitals, including pediatric and infant height/weight
  • Notifying patients when lab results are available
  • Opening and closing the clinic
  • Faxing referrals
  • Scheduling patient appointments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Langley, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
