Mechanic / Technician - Refrigerated Transport (Reefer/Heater; Entry Level/Experienced) Location Winnipeg, MB :

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Start Date: Position available immediately; start date flexible upon hiring

Hours per week: 40 hours per week

After-Hours & On-Call Rotation: Will be required to work after-hours/weekends during on-call rotation after adequate training is provided

Wages/Salary Information: Competitive hourly wage based on experience

:

• Assemble and install refrigeration and heating components such as motors and compressors
• Read wiring diagrams, and install and calibrate related controls,
• Recharge systems with refrigerant and perform routine maintenance checks,
• Service and repair diesel engines and related parts,
• Repair and replace parts and components and overhaul entire refrigeration systems,
• Interact with transportation drivers and dispatchers to understand customers' repair and maintenance needs, and
• Maintain a respectful, safe and clean working environment

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Manitoba Class 5 (or higher) Driver's License and a clean driving record is required
• Interest and/or desire to learn and work with refrigerated transport units such as Carrier, Thermo King, and/or Zanotti reefer/heater units
• Knowledge and/or experience working with refrigerated transport (reefer/heater) units is an asset; employer will provide training
• MOPIA certification is required (employer-paid training will be provided)
• Ability to identify electrical and mechanical defects in refrigerated transport units before conducting repairs, services, and/or routine maintenance
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong multitasker and ability to work independently or with a team
