As a Manager, you will take charge of a range of public policy and government relations projects. You will be accountable for guiding the strategic planning and execution of client engagements while also mentoring and leading a team of Public Policy Analysts. This role requires close coordination with government officials, Diet members, media, and other essential stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for our clients. The position provides a unique chance to operate at the convergence of business and government, crafting impactful policy solutions for a wide array of clients.Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage public policy research and analysis, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, precise reports and strategic advice. - Design and implement strategic outreach and engagement initiatives with government officials, Diet members, media, and key policy influencers. - Offer leadership and mentorship to Public Policy Analysts, supporting their professional development and ensuring project milestones are achieved. - Work closely with project leaders and cross-functional teams to guarantee client satisfaction and meet business goals. - Supervise the creation of tailored proposals aimed at securing new business opportunities and broadening client base. - Nurture and enhance relationships with existing clients, ensuring their requirements are fulfilled and expectations are surpassed. - Keep track of and assess policy changes and political trends to guide client strategies and identify emerging opportunities and threats. - Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings, boosting the company’s visibility and reputation in the field of government relations.
求められる経験
Key Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to public policy and politics, with an in-depth knowledge of Japan’s policy-making mechanisms and political environment.
Preferred: a master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in government relations, public policy, or a similar field, with managerial experience being a plus.
- A proven record of successfully leading and managing complex projects.
- Superior research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of influencing and establishing connections with stakeholders at various levels.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese (reading and writing) along with business-level English proficiency (high TOEIC score or equivalent).
- Cultural awareness and sound judgment when dealing with the intersection of business and government.
- Significant experience working within or alongside government entities such as ministries, agencies, the Diet, or embassies is highly advantageous.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or a similar field.
- Experience, either through work or internships, within ministries, agencies, the Diet, a Diet member’s office, or an embassy is considered beneficial.
