CNC Machinist | New Carlisle, IN
Starting Pay: $18 - $30/hr based on experience
Shift(s): 1 st shift -- Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm EST -OR- 7am to 3pm EST
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both manual and CNC machining processes, with a solid understanding of OD grinding, final finish inspection, and blueprint reading. The successful candidate will also have proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments, along with knowledge of G-Code programming. Experience with Master Cam software is a plus.
Requirements & Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining and manual machine operation.
· Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
· Strong knowledge of G-Code programming and CNC machine operation.
· Experience with OD grinding and final finish inspection of parts.
· Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
· Familiarity with Master Cam software (preferred).
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
· Ability to work with tight tolerances and meet quality standards.
Primary Duties Include:
· Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce high-precision parts.
· Perform manual machining operations, including turning, milling, and grinding, as needed.
· Conduct OD grinding to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.
· Perform final finish inspections on machined parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
· Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
· Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine machine setup and tooling requirements.
· Write and edit G-Code programs for CNC machines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
· Utilize Master Cam software to program and optimize machining processes (preferred).
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.
· Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met.
