Position overview

Logistics specialist will be responsible for the day to day follow up of domestic, import and export shipments and related tasks. You will ensure the operations are smooth and in compliance as well as support Logistics Lead and handle different projects.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange domestic and export shipments as well as import of products from other Allnex sites.
  • Proactively interface and ensure effective coordination with freight forwarders, distribution centers, air/ocean carriers, Customer Service, Planning, and Logistics.
  • Strive to minimize shipping cost by consolidating shipments as much as possible with minimal impact to transit times and operate with sense of urgency to ensure transit times are not negatively impacted.
  • Log complaints relating to logistics in SAP, and follow up for the solution.
  • Resolve corrective action requests (CCIR / SCAR) in SAP that results from service failures to customers.
  • Participate to transversal meetings and trainings involving logistics activities.
  • Maintain necessary records, files and reports and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory guidelines applicable to record keeping and training requirements like IATA, DOT or IMDG.
  • Comply with Company health, safety and environmental policies.Responsible for the safe operation of the unit, compliance with health requirements and protection of the environment, including energy conservation.
  • Ensure safety operation of 3rd party service providers.

Required skills and experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply chain activities including customer service and/or logistics distribution processes
  • Business level of English (read & writing)
  • Consistently exhibits customer focus
  • Positive results oriented attitude that promotes teamwork with peers, business units, other support areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication, multitasking and computer skills (strong knowledge of SAP ERP)
  • Strong problem solving attitude

Qualifications

  • Logistics degree or equivalent Logistics experience.
