LICENSED ELECTRICIAN/PLC PROGRAMMER-Concord, ON

Client offers laundry detergents and liquid fabric softeners

This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility’s electric and electronic equipment. Through routine and non – routine maintenance this position ensures the department is run to maximize quality, safety and productivity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Trouble shoot and isolate faults in industrial electrical and electronic systems and removes and replaces faulty components.
• Inspect electrical systems to ensure safety and code compliance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Set up, trouble shoot and maintain packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot Electrical equipment problems and performs unscheduled equipment repairs.
• Read and interpret machine drawings to resolve problems or to rebuild equipment, by utilizing prints and plant documentation.
• Layout, assemble, install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment.
• Conduct infrared Electrical Inspections.
• Program and trouble shoot PLC.
• Program of Recipe.
• Maintain, repair, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Search for WOs in CMMS and specifies and orders parts needed to complete work.
• Document work performed in PM procedures.
• Participate in route cause Investigations.
• Order specified parts needed.
• Maintain equipment records.
• Ensure maintenance history is accurate and enters into the CMMS
• Document all unplanned repairs.
• Participate in route cause Investigations
• Order and/or specify parts needed.
• Record parts used for accurate inventory control.
• Understands all SOPs relating to the Maintenance department
• Comply with all company safety policies as well as provincial and local regulations, with the support and guidance of Corporate SHEQ authorities.
• Complete all safe work permits.
• Complete risk assessments.
• Standing; Bending; Lifting (up to 50 lbs.); Pushing; Pulling; Crouching; Reaching; Repetitive Motions.
• Must be physically fit to repetitively walk up and down stairs, and throughout plant

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working at heights/Fall Arrest.
• 442A license required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PLC programming and trouble shooting.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• High School diploma a must.
• Minimum 5 years’ extensive experience in an electrical maintenance position, within a packaging manufacturing environment.
