Douglas Homes is a recognized home builder in Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, and Calgary. We are excited to share that our company is growing, and we are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team. We are in search of a motivated, organized, hard-working individual with excellent customer service skills to join and grow the team. Long-term opportunities for growth and advancement will be available in this position.

What you will do:

• Residential construction estimating.
• Analyze blueprints and contractual agreements to accurately complete quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
• Issue purchase orders and request quotes according to the contracts.
• Review and reconcile invoices against purchase orders and contracts, solving discrepancies as needed.
• Research, compare, and recruit trades for various projects.
• Communicate and collaborate with trades, suppliers, drafting department, sales team, and construction team to ensure project alignment.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Operations or senior estimators.
• Maintain communication with trade partners and suppliers.
• Work effectively within a team environment to support overall project success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Experience/Knowledge Requirements:

• Residential construction experience is essential
• Experience in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook is required
• Proficiency in Blue beam, Revit, AutoCAD, Timberline and Homefront would be an asset
• Knowledge of residential construction and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specification
• Work independently and as part of a team on day-to-day tasks and project
• Detail oriented and goal driven

• Civil Engineering Technologist/Architectural Technologist background is an asset
