Job Description An Industrial Electrician is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Install electrical components and troubleshoot electrical systems on equipment manufactured at the production plant
- Install electrical panels, switches, wiring, and other electrical components on manufactured equipment to engineering specifications
- Perform final electrical testing and documentation.
- Maintain build quality by verifying part and assembly to print
- Troubleshoot electrical systems with the engineering team
- Provide hands on electrical training to others in assembly
- Assist with mechanical and hydraulic assembly tasks when needed
- Provide feedback to engineering on design and process improvement opportunities
- Ensure that electrical equipment is installed per latest safety codes and best practice methods
- Electrical testing is completed and equipment is in compliance with performance standards
- Improve manufacturing systems\processes related to electrical area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Journeyman Electrical license or Associates Degree in Electrical or equivalent experience
- Thorough understanding of the following:
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Knowledge of 600VAC, 480VAC 3 phase systems and 24 VDC circuits
- Ability to read and understand proper use of electrical measuring instruments
- Understand and experience with the use of standard hand tools, soldering, crimp tool applications
- Understanding CEC & NEC code on manufactured equipment
- Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use specific control software
- Experience with PLC programming software an asset
- Experience in Motor Control applications an asset
- Experience VFD's and Soft-starts an asset
- Ability to understand schematic drawings, specifications, and circuits an asset
