Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, and lighting in underground and surface mining environments.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and schedule regular inspections on electrical components and systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for installation and repair work.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using appropriate testing devices and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Install and maintain high-voltage and low-voltage systems, including motors, panels, and substations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting.
  • Follow strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and hazard identification, to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor apprentices or junior electricians as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid Saskatchewan Journeyman’s License.
  • Industrial, Utility and Substation experience is an asset.
  • Experience with high voltage electrical equipment, cable management and medium/high voltage terminations.
  • Current Valid Driver’s License & Driver’s Abstract required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a minimal supervision environment
  • Ability to pay careful attention to detail.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with tight time constraints.
  • Ability to work as a team player and follow our safety management system.
  • The willingness to continuously further their skills and abilities.
  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive tasks which may require pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, & twisting;
  • Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise, temperature, and air quality;
  • May involve overhead work and heights.
  • Physical fitness test and drug and alcohol test will be required.
