Horticultural Lecturer

College location:East Surrey College (Redhill) and John Ruskin College (Selsdon)

Hourly pay rate: £26.00/hour  (£21.81/hour + £4.19/hour as payment for annual leave)

Hours:  5 days (Hours to be confirmed) 

Start Date:    September 2023

 

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiasticHorticulture Lecturer to join a dynamic team who are committed to delivering high quality learning to our students.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to take the lead on teaching horticulture to a range of learners within our Life Skills Department and at offsite centre at a partner faciltiy.  The role would suit someone with horticulture experience, who has worked with students with SEN and who would be confident taking the lead in developing the provision.

You do not need to be a qualified lecturer, however there could be opportunities to develop in the role if this was something you were interested in. 

There are good facilities available to work with and development could include planting for pleasure, cost of living -  grow your own, an enterprise project herbs and house plants etc.

You will also act as a personal tutor, promote attendance and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Subject specialist qualification / skills at Level 3 or above
  • Teaching qualification Level 3 or above
  • Teaching experience of adults
  • Ability to teach to adult learners
