DESCRIPTION

The Health Specialist drives health program development and implementation for Amazon Japan while ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role manages day-to-day health operations and serves as the subject matter expert for health-related matters.

Key job responsibilities
- Drive health program development and implementation for Amazon Japan, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- The main programs under this position's responsibility are Medical Checks, Occupational Health Physician (OHP) Interview for Workers with Overtime, Stress Check and OHP Services.
- Execute Health Officer duties per Japanese law, including workplace inspections, Health Committee meeting participation, and health-related information provision.
- Manage health-related service vendors (Medical Checks, Occupational Health Physician Services), evaluating and improving their services.
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.
- Participate in audits, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
- Serve as first point of contact for escalations from team, ensuring issue resolution.
- Identify potential escalations and work with team manager to resolve them.
- Develop contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide daily support and act as liaison for associates within the global team's department.
- Distribute updates and metrics to appropriate stakeholders (MBR, WBR, HRBP, Legal, Compliance).
- Verify data, perform data entry, and identify discrepancies for correction.
- Serve as primary contact for team, customer, and stakeholder queries and escalations.
- Create and maintain documentation for the program and specific situations.

This role supports employees in Japan and their HR representatives and managers. This position fulfills its responsibilities through collaboration with Japan and Global Medical Checks Teams, as well as internal stakeholders including HR, managers, Legal, and Benefits Teams.While focusing on health program management, this position provides excellent opportunities for professional growth through diverse HR-related activities, including regulatory compliance, global collaboration, improvement initiatives, and project management.

About the team
We are part of the Global Medical Checks Team. In Japan, our responsibilities extend beyond medical checks to include all health-related programs mandated by Japanese regulations. Our team focuses on automating operational processes and delivering stress-free services to employees.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with process improvement and stakeholder management
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- 3+ years in HR or health-related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High level of professionalism
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word & Excel
- Health Officer license(Eisei Kanrishya 衛生管理者)
