Teacher Recruitment – April 2026

Polku International School is currently accepting applications for a full-time English teaching position starting in April 2026. We are beginning the screening process early in order to carefully identify a teacher who is a good fit for our school community.

Start date: April 2026

About Polku International School

Polku International School is a small, community-focused early years English immersion school located in Higashi-Matsudo, Chiba. We work with children aged 2–6 in a structured, teacher-guided learning environment, with a strong focus on natural spoken English, consistency, and positive daily routines.

Our classrooms are lively, supportive, and well organised. Teachers play an active role in guiding learning, building children’s confidence, and creating a safe and encouraging atmosphere where children can enjoy using English every day.

Please note: Polku International School does not follow the Montessori approach.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Enjoys working with young children in a structured, teacher-guided environment
  • Is confident leading lessons and managing a small group of children
  • Is comfortable working in a full English-speaking environment
  • Enjoys being physically active, including singing, dancing, and moving with children
  • Is reliable, punctual, and professional in their daily work
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates positively with colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Teach English to young learners aged approximately 2–6
  • Deliver structured, teacher-guided lessons in line with the school curriculum
  • Create a positive, calm, and engaging classroom environment
  • Actively engage children through songs, movement, and hands-on activities
  • Take part in outdoor play and regular walks with children
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
  • Support curriculum implementation and contribute ideas when appropriate
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and parents

Working Hours

Monday to Friday (Full-time: 9:00–18:00)

Morning hours focus on teaching, daily routines, and active engagement with children. Afternoon hours typically include lessons, preparation, classroom support, and collaboration with colleagues.

Remuneration & Benefits

Full-time: Monthly salary: ¥260,000–¥280,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Transportation allowance and social insurance are provided in accordance with regulations. Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance from the school.
