JOB SUMMARY:


The Agency is partnering with Wolfe Honey with the recruitment of a Full-Time Finance Manager. Over the past 25 years, Gilbert and his family have transformed their humble honey operation into Canada's largest organic apiary. What started as a small family granary has grown into a 40,000-square-foot production and distribution powerhouse, with thousands of hives and 22 full-time employees. Through it all, the Wolfe family have remained committed to creating the highest quality organic honey, sourced entirely from the beautiful Peace River region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Reporting, Cash Flow Management, Budget Management, Compliance and Risk Management, Strategic Planning and Taxation and Audit (alongside company accountant). Specific details are included below:

• Develop and manage financial budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) in accordance with accounting principles.
• Present financial results to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
• Monitor cash flow and manage liquidity to ensure the organization has the necessary funds for operations and growth.
• Oversee the management of receivables and payables.
• Lead the creation of annual budgets, working with department heads to ensure departmental goals align with overall company objectives.
• Monitor expenditures, ensuring that they remain within budgeted limits.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Mitigate financial risks by developing internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial strategies and company growth initiatives.
• Analyze financial data to support business decisions and assist with investment and funding strategies.
• Assist the company accountant with tax planning and compliance to minimize liabilities and ensure timely filing.
• General accounting duties including data entry, inventory, AR, AP, bank reconciliations, preparations of monthly financial statements to present to senior management.
• Purchase invoice processing and inventory cost accounting.
• Maintain month end and year end close processes, meeting deadlines as required.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure adherence to audit requirements.
