Full Job Description Job Title: Estimator
Job Summary The Estimator is responsible for managing all aspects of the estimation process within the company and handling various project management tasks for assigned construction contracts. This role is pivotal in gaining project management experience, enhancing team performance, and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities - Perform takeoffs using clients Construction's standard estimating forms.
- Analyze subcontractor bids for accuracy and competitiveness, considering factors like equipment needs, operation sequences, crew size, and site constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive cost summaries, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontracts, overhead, taxes, insurance, markup, and other project costs.
- Learn and utilize the company's database and estimation tools.
- Secure quotations from external resources based on time, price, and quality considerations.
- Collaborate with client Construction personnel and sub-trade resources to gather necessary information for service offers.
- Solicit detailed information from designers, architects, and engineers for complex calculations.
- Analyze and interpret detailed or ambiguous drawings and information.
- Make sound judgments based on data and company experience.
- Clearly communicate project plans and details to ensure thorough understanding.
- Develop strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the estimation process.
- Participate in post-mortem discussions, preparing notes and analyses for future reference.

Key Qualifications - 3-7 years of estimation experience in retail or comparable sectors.
- Proficiency in construction, facilities, or related legal forms/documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
