Job Description

ESL (English as a second language) high school teacher Location Markham, ON :

Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
or equivalent experience

Work setting

Boarding house/school
Private school

Tasks

Advise students on course selection and on vocational and personal matters
Assign and correct homework
Develop course content
Evaluate the progress of students and discuss results with students, parents and school officials
Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
Prepare, administer and correct tests
Provide tutoring assistance
Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations and laboratory, shop and field studies
Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness

TESL/TELF/TESOL¿(teaching English as a second language) Certification
