In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

• Gather and analyze all environmental data in our network.
• Identify environmental opportunities for improvement and recommend measures and processes to implement them within our Canadian network.
• Leverage internal and external data to create reports, communicate findings, and make recommendations and recommend sustainable solutions to positively impact our footprint and reduce costs to various stakeholders including the Executive Committee
• Work with contractors in managing projects related to environmental sustainability.
• Provide support and guidance to internal teams on environmental issues.
• Develop and present comprehensive reports and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to drive environmental initiatives and projects forward.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Post-secondary education and designation in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Technical knowledge of Canadian standards for GHG
• Highly analytical
• Ability to communicate cross-functionally
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel Advanced Analytics
• Strong Project Management capabilities and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
• Research experience
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
• Problem solving capabilities
• Ability to prioritize
• Keen interest in educating others about Environmental impact
• Ability to work independently

• Prioritization based on impact
• Ability to create appropriate metrics
