POSITION: Reception

Department: Entry Level Administration

Status: 6 Month Term with possible extension

Pay Scale : $19 - $21 per hour

Closing: Open until filled

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a reliable, approachable, organized person to coordinate general administration tasks within our office environment. Reception is the hub of the Friendship Centre and the first contact for our visitors. This position is responsible for managing the front desk area, and providing support to the SJFC programs as needed.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet Public and redirect inquiries both internally & externally

• Maintain employee in/out board and programs/event calendar

• Administration file creation & maintenance

• Ordering and purchasing

• Stationary control & inventory

• Statistical tracking for reception (calls, emails, inquiries in person, etc.)

• Support employees arranging forms, travel accommodations etc. as needed

• General office upkeep: wipe down reception area, vacuum, make coffee etc.

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Highschool Diploma or higher and/or experience working in administration

• Outstanding organization & independent self-management under minimal supervision

• General knowledge of office etiquette, procedures & structure, including proficient working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams), internet navigation/research & overall digital confidence

• Excellent English verbal & written communications skills are essential

• Yukon First Nations & Cross-Cultural awareness, demonstrating compassion, empathy & healthy attitude toward trauma, substance abuse & addictions
