Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Japan Headquarter office in Tokyo, Japan full time.
The Role -
The critical role should manage the following but not limited to Long-Term and Short-Term Forecasting, Business Planning, etc.
Lead and manage overall Product planning activities to support achieving short and longer-term business goals.
Industry and Competitive Analysis
Portfolio and Volume Plan development
Product and Technology Roll-out Plan
Product Positioning Plan
Engage with Global/Regional Planning and Program management stakeholders
Support Business and Strategic Planning
Support Japan leadership for strategy development
Facilitate GM leadership reviews and Japan visits
Engage with Global/Regional Business Planning
Lead and Manage overall Product Launch and Marketing activities
Product launch strategies and execution plan
Product quality assurance plan and execution
Product marketing – product contents and pricing
Product accessory plan and execution
Product training plan and execution
Engage with Global/Regional functions and 3rd party vendors
Manage Type Approval, End-of-Life and Public Policy activities
Ensure regulatory compliance plan to support portfolio plan
Ensure type approval plan and execution to support product launches
Ensure End-of-life activities in place
Engage and support Public Policy activities
Engage with internal Regulation, Government Relations, Public Policy functions
Engage with Japan and U.S. Government Authorities, Japanese Auto Industry Associations, American Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Develop Product Organization and People
Ensure Safety for all people with no compromise
Design organization enhancement and optimization plan
Coach and develop people through candid and constructive feedback
Develop succession and progression plan
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Japanese/English business level required (Speaking & Writing)
Splendid experience and background in mainstream automotive OEMs required
Strong written and oral communications skills.
