Who we need

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, we are hiring a Director of Finance. This role presents a unique opportunity to continue to shape the financial future of our operations in Canada and the United States, making a significant and lasting impact on the company's success.

We are in the midst of an exciting transformation focused on growth and innovation. You will be a strategic partner to the Operations and Supply Chain leadership teams, providing financial leadership, critical data-driven insights, and fiscal decision-making support to drive business performance. You will oversee a small team and all aspects of operations finance, including manufacturing cost analysis, plant financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. As the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate reporting and proactive financial management to optimize cost efficiency and profitability across operations.

This is a full‑time, hybrid role, working 3 days a week on‑site in Brampton, ON, with travel to our plant in Indiana 1-2 times per quarter.

Ideally, you bring experience in manufacturing and may hold a CPA designation. How you will make an impact:

• Financial leadership. You will act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive team by evaluating opportunities, assessing risk, identifying trends and building financial models and scenario analyses. You will partner with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to develop and execute cost management strategies, elevating financial reporting to provide actionable insights. You will drive the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process for operations, including annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range planning. You will support capital investment analysis and post-project evaluations to ensure optimal use of resources.
• Strategic thought leadership . You will provide financial leadership in strategic initiatives, including capacity expansion, process improvement, and cost reduction projects across our Canadian and US sites. You will look at ways to streamline and optimize finance operations across the sites in a consistent manner and provide oversight of standard reporting and due diligence. You will support our strategic planning process from a finance point of view. In this role, you will adopt our One Team approach, understanding that business partnerships are critical to our success and working to strategically engage internally and externally to elevate our plant revenue results.
• Operational performance management. You will monitor and analyze manufacturing and supply chain KPIs such as labour efficiency, yield, waste, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). You will lead cost variance analysis (material, labour, overhead) and inventory valuation. You will work closely with plant controllers and operations teams to ensure accurate monthly closing and financial reporting. You will establish and maintain effective internal controls in alignment with corporate policies, and manage cash flow, working capital and capital expenditures. You will drive month‑end and year‑end closings, support audits, and comply with Canadian and US standards.
• Foster business partnerships. You will act as a key liaison between Finance and Operations to ensure alignment on goals and metrics. You will partner with the Operations teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and productivity savings. You will produce accurate, timely, actionable financial reports and insights, enabling leaders to assess performance and make informed decisions.
• Manage and develop the team. You will oversee the Controller and Analyst at both sites, providing mentorship and leadership to ensure strong internal controls, efficient processes and a culture of accountability.

What you bring:

• The education. You may hold a CPA designation and post‑secondary education in accounting or finance. An MBA or executive development credentials would be considered an asset.
• The financial leadership. You bring progressive finance experience, with a recent focus on operations finance within a manufacturing or supply chain environment. You can lead audit processes and ensure compliance in cross‑border operations. You have knowledge of driving margin optimization and a strong understanding of cost accounting, financial planning, and analysis.
• The operational excellence. You are a thought leader with exceptional strategic planning abilities and a deep understanding of business operations in a manufacturing environment. You have a process improvement mindset, analytical rigour, and a results-oriented approach.
• The collaboration. You have exceptional communication skills and find deep satisfaction in sharing your recommendations. You believe in creating a presence on the plant floor, making observations, and building connections to gain insights. You are a proven leader with experience managing and mentoring smaller, high-performing teams. You have demonstrated the ability to support career development, resolve conflict and nurture an environment of continuous improvement and accountability. You can build influential partnerships with cross-functional leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and driving business results.
• The technical skills. You have expertise with Microsoft Excel, particularly financial modelling. You have experience leveraging insights from data and taking action based on insights. You are proficient with Power BI and an ERP.
• The flexibility. You are willing and able to travel up to Indiana up to twice per quarter.
