Who we are
Skjodt-Barrett is a world-class manufacturer of food solutions and custom ingredients for North America's most beloved and trusted brands. We take pride in working closely with our customers to understand their unique needs and create innovative, individualized solutions that deliver joy to their customers.
A family-founded company started 40 years ago, we are backed by the investment company Axel Johnson Inc (AJI). With their investment and support, we are well-positioned to foster growth and explore new opportunities.
Our customers, blue-chip international brands and mid-sized producers alike, are why we exist. Our teams of innovators, communicators, and managers are the people who meet their needs, build trust, and work to exceed their expectations.
Who we need
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, we are hiring a Director of Finance. This role presents a unique opportunity to continue to shape the financial future of our operations in Canada and the United States, making a significant and lasting impact on the company's success.
We are in the midst of an exciting transformation focused on growth and innovation. You will be a strategic partner to the Operations and Supply Chain leadership teams, providing financial leadership, critical data-driven insights, and fiscal decision-making support to drive business performance. You will oversee a small team and all aspects of operations finance, including manufacturing cost analysis, plant financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. As the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate reporting and proactive financial management to optimize cost efficiency and profitability across operations.
This is a full‑time, hybrid role, working 3 days a week on‑site in Brampton, ON, with travel to our plant in Indiana 1-2 times per quarter.
Who you are
You may be a Senior Manager ready to step into a Director role, or a Director seeking the opportunity to contribute to an organization undergoing transformation. Ideally, you bring experience in manufacturing and may hold a CPA designation. You are ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of joining a company with a strong foundation and a clear focus on future growth. As a finance leader, you bring a strong balance of analytical rigour and business insight, using data to inform decisions and drive profitable performance. You have a proven track record as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor. You collaborate effectively across functions and can communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders.
What's in it for you
Impact. At Skjodtt-Barrett, we have a huge responsibility to feed families across North America, and we are honoured to be represented in people's pantries every day. If that means as much to you as it does to us, you will love it here.
Influence. You will join a forward‑thinking organization with ambitious growth targets over the next 3 to 5 years. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have the opportunity to glean knowledge from her multi-lens view, not just our business but the industry as a whole. Your work will be instrumental in guiding executive decision-making and ensuring the company is financially equipped to achieve its goals.
Professional growth. We are only a few chapters into our story. You will collaborate closely with the CFO on strategic thought leadership and grow partnerships with senior leaders across operations, supply chain, and finance. You will step into a high‑visibility leadership role, mentor a growing finance team, and support major transformation initiatives. You will gain an organization-wide view with an incredible breadth of opportunity to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of how we operate.
