WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer or Senior Technologist to lead our engineering design team in the production of plans, reports and applications related land development and municipal engineering projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in detailed design related to land development projects predominantly completed in the Greater Toronto Area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of our Engineering Design Team, you will be coordinating the preparation of applications and engineering drawings based on information received from the Project Managers. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a project production schedule; procure information required at the design stage for use by design staff; and provide quality control in organizing and finalizing submission packages. Your overall goal will be to expedite submissions to clients and approval authorities; as well as report on progress and issues to the Project Managers and Principals of the firm.
Responsibilities will include:
Scheduling & Coordination of project schedule with engineering design staff
Reviewing drawings for consistency with corporate and municipal standards
Keeping track of project budgets and staff resources.
Preparation of civil engineering drawings utilizing Civil 3D
Provide experienced design recommendations to intermediate and junior staff;
Reporting on overall project status to company principals;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Civil Engineering Degree, College or University
Highly effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills with team members, clients and approval authorities
Experience in the design of roads, municipal servicing, stormwater management, grading and site layout.
A well rounded knowledge of Provincial and Local design standards, with emphasis on GTA Municipalities.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Strong Communication Skills, written and verbal
Experienced with the operation of Autodesk Civil 3D
Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook
Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle
