Job Description
Overview The Laborer position is responsible for performing various duties on projects. The employee will generally work in the capacity of transferring from one task to another where demands are required. You may also operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as some equipment. You will complete a variety of other general labor assignments such as clean and prepare sites.
The incumbent is the Company’s ambassador to the general public, the owner, our customer, testing agencies, government agencies, sub-contractors and suppliers. As a site employee of the Company the Labourer is expected to act and behave responsibly and professionally, to safely execute the work in an expeditious and efficient manner and to ensure that all work completed meets with the customer’s expectation of quality workmanship, safety, quality, environmental mindfulness and site tidiness.
We are currently looking for Construction Labourers for our our Winvan division (Road Building). to join our Paving, Grading and Milling crews. This unionized position is based outdoors.

Roles & Responsibilities Day to day activities include: - Upholding safety standards at all times
- Operating hand and power tools and equipment
- Following direction of a Foreman as to daily tasks
- Assisting in the training of new or inexperienced employees;
- Prepping, digging, spreading, and leveling construction materials;
- Lifting, carrying and holding material, tools and supplies;
- Assisting in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices;
Requirements - Safety focus
- Previous related experience in construction (Road Building) field is preferred
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times
- Report to work at the designated start time
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Be able to work overtime when required
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Skidsteer experience will be considered an asset
