Our guests love to eat and with all the amazing food on board our ships who can blame them! As a Commis for Carnival, you will be assisting cooks when preparing meals, ensuring that all food production recipes and presentation specifications are followed, as per company standards, to produce food of consistent quality and cost.

As part of our Culinary Team, Commis are responsible for following recipes and specifications to ensure the quality and consistency of meals and the highest level of sanitation are maintained, all in keeping with company and USPH standards.

You will be a real foodie who, has an eye for detail and enjoys being part of a large, diverse, and busy team where no two days are the same but there is always FUN! Joining Carnival as a Commis is the first step towards a rewarding career as part of our amazing Galley Team!

Maintain the quality and presentation of all food served and the expedition thereof.; Follow all USPH and HACCP procedures in all food production and galley maintenance.; Assist the cook in directing and leading the trainees.; Serve food on the service lines and present it to company specifications.; Follow all recipes to company specifications and avoid wastage.; Communicate and cooperate with all other team members, to ensure a smooth food delivery system.; Ensure garbage separation standards are being followed.; Perform all other tasks assigned by senior management.; Advise Superiors on different or inferior products being received.; Maintain Hospitality standards at all times towards Crew and Guests.;

Position Minimum Requirements;

Fluency in conversational & written English,; Candidates should have a positive attitude and be self self-motivated.; Ability to motivate, train and supervise workforce.; A Diploma / Degree in Hospitality or Food production is preferred but not required.; A minimum of 2 years experience in a hotel/restaurant (minimum of 4-star rating) serving contemporary continental cuisine/fusion with extensive significant banqueting capability in a capacity of Commis or similar.; Previous Cruise ship experience is preferred.; Basic computer skills (MS Office) are advantageous but not essential.; At least 21 years old.;
